Over in the Amazon widget to the lower right, one of the items that circles through is the DVD box set for the BBC’s recent re-imagined version of Sherlock Holmes, which placed the legendary detective firmly in the 21st century. While that might seem wrong at first glance, the tone and the portrayals of Holmes and Watson were truer to the spirit of the original stories than most of the adaptations I’ve seen. And the show’s really just great fun — one of the most enjoyable things I’ve watched on tv in a long time.
